Terms of Utility Service & Privacy Policy
1. What We Are
SanDiegoUnderpinning.com ("the Utility," "we," "us") is a free lead-referral and information utility. We are not a licensed contractor or engineering firm, and we do not perform foundation underpinning, pier installation, or slope stabilization work ourselves. We connect visitors with independent, third-party contractors ("Partners") holding active California Contractors State License Board (CSLB) licenses appropriate to foundation work, operating in San Diego County.
2. Lead-Referral Disclosure
When you submit a request through this site, your information (name, phone, email, ZIP, project details) is shared with one or more Partner contractors, who may contact you directly to discuss your project and provide a quote. We may receive a referral fee from Partners for connecting you. This does not affect the price you are quoted.
3. Call Recording & Consent (California — Two-Party Consent)
California is a two-party (all-party) consent state under Penal Code § 632. Calls placed through or received via tracking numbers on this site may be recorded for quality, training, and lead-attribution purposes only with the consent of all parties to the call. Before any call is connected or recorded, both the caller and the receiving contractor are informed via an automated disclosure that the call is being recorded, and recording proceeds only if all parties remain on the line after that disclosure. If you do not consent to recording, please contact us in writing instead.
4. Not Engineering Advice
All cost ranges, pier comparisons, soil descriptions, and repair guidance on this site are general educational information for planning purposes only. They are not an engineering opinion, a specification, or a quote, and they are not a substitute for a site-specific geotechnical investigation and a repair plan prepared and stamped by a California-licensed civil or structural engineer.
5. No Guarantee of Work or Licensure Verification
While we make reasonable efforts to work only with CSLB-licensed Partners, we do not independently verify licensure, insurance, or bonding on every job and are not liable for the quality, timeliness, or outcome of any work performed by a Partner. Always verify a contractor's CSLB license at cslb.ca.gov before signing a contract.
6. Permits & Engineering Sign-Off
Foundation underpinning is structural work and generally requires a building permit, typically supported by engineered calculations, across San Diego County jurisdictions. We do not obtain permits, geotechnical reports, or engineering approvals on your behalf — this is the responsibility of you and/or your matched contractor. See our cost and permitting page for general guidance.
7. Information We Collect & How It's Used
We collect the information you submit via our forms (name, contact info, ZIP, project type, timeline) and standard analytics data (IP, device, referrer). This is used solely to route your request to an appropriate Partner and improve our matching service. We do not sell your data to unrelated third parties.
